From the reviews
I've trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Carlos Terrinha for over 10 years. Carlos is an excellent teacher who makes the complexities of Jiu Jitsu approachable for all levels. Carlos's competitive record speaks for itself with a long run of success at the highest levels of the sport.
Professor Carlos Terrinha is an absolute gem. My 7 year old son, Gavin started with the 2 week trial classes and I was immediately impressed with Carlos’ patience and knowledge! Each child gets a very in depth, step by step breakdown of each move in a way they can understand.
I've been training under professor Carlos Terrinha for 7 months months now. It's a real honor to be able to learn from someone with so much experience and knowledge. If you want to learn how to defend yourself or just lose weight and get stronger professor Terrinha is the one to learn from.
I've been training with Professor Terrinha for nearly 4 years. You won't find a better BJJ instructor in Mass. nor a better group of people to train with. If you're looking to get in shape, build self confidence, learn to defend yourself and have a great time while doing it come in and try a class.
Your first BJJ class at Terrinha Draculino BJJ Team
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
