From the reviews
Great new school in Boerne with two World Class BJJ black belts. Very rare to be able to train with such amazing Champions, who are also very kind and friendly. Highly recommend this school!
This is the place to be. If you are looking to start your 4-5 year old in one sport at that age then BJJ should be your first choice. If your child is older then it doesn’t matter. They even offer classes for parents to take concurrently while your child is there. It’s never too late.
I highly recommend this gym for women and children. My husband visited a few other jiu-jitsu locations in the area and chose RPBJJ because of Professor Riba and Nathi's expertise, and I am so glad he did. My kids were 4 and 5 when they started. Riba has been amazing with them since the first day.
If you are looking for a place to train that is family oriented, has world class instruction with world champion instructors I highly recommend this place. My son, daughter and myself all started our BJJ journey here and couldn't more pleased.
Your first BJJ class at Rodrigo Pinheiro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Boerne, Texas
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
