From the reviews
I joined this gym when I first moved to Louisiana , I joined the Cross fit and the kick boxing class combo and I got a great workout each time I stepped foot inside the gym. The instructors are very well trained in everything from dead-lifts to the perfect strike and take down.
Evolution Training Martial Arts is the BEST gym for so many reasons! I'll start by addressing the kid's class. Each and every instructor coaches the children in not only jiu-jitsu, but also in life skills. They teach emotion control, respect, team work, strategies, and martial arts moves, of course.
we were looking for a new start at a healthy lifestyle then we seen a advertisement for evolution training. it read ju jitsu crossfit kickboxing. I've always had a love for kickboxing and also knew it would be great for my children to learn self defense so we made an appointment and as soon as we arrived we were told…
This gym is fantastic! I love the safe, supportive, and welcoming training environment here! Every instructor is friendly, patient, and attentive as can be, and they teach with a focus on both the self-defense potential of jiu-jitsu and the competitive / technical aspects.
Your first BJJ class at EVOLUTION TRAINING
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
