From the reviews
Enumclaw Jiu-jitsu is a family friendly gym with great teaching and a fun atmosphere. Bobby and Liz really go the extra mile to invest in their members. This gym accommodates all people at all fitness levels. My life has changed forever as a result of joining this gym.
What a rad gym! My son started with jiu jitsu a little over a year ago, but it wasn't too long before his sister's wanted to join. Then I figured I might as well start to roll too!
Bobby has built a great community at Enumclaw Jiu-Jitsu. He has one of the best Kids teams in PNW. He is very modern with his training approach and adapts to whatever his students needs are. In addition to having a good Jiu-Jitsu program they also have a weight room for cross training.
I can tell this gym has a thriving, family friendly community that helps you along the journey. Jiu Jitsu is a difficult sport, and if you don’t have a strong support network of people, it’s really hard to bounce back sometimes.
Your first BJJ class at Enumclaw Jiu Jitsu
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
