From the reviews
This is a phenomenal place to learn jiu jitsu, whether you are interested in competing seriously or are looking to take up a new hobby to challenge yourself. The team feels like a family, and everyone is very welcoming and supportive.
I’m in my 50’s and have been going to Diego Saraiva Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for about a 18 months now and DS BJJ has become like a second family. All of the men and women here are so respectful, kind and it’s a great place to learn the art of BJJ.
My daughter has been attending here for about a year and loves it. The teachers are very knowledgeable and do not rush the kids as they try to learn the moves. There is a variety of ages of children in the class and the coaches always make sure that the kids and paired up appropriately.
My experience here has been A+. When I moved, distance prevented me from staying with my former gym. That was really hard for me, but I knew I needed to train closer to home with my growing family.
Your first BJJ class at Deep Water Jiu Jitsu (Diego Saraiva- Roswell)
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
