From the reviews
Caridian has become so much more than a gym for our family. It's a place where our boys are challenged, encouraged, and surrounded by coaches who genuinely care about their growth both on and off the mats.
I really liked the BJJ gym I first started training in so had high expectations when I moved and was looking for a new gym. I tried a few gyms that were ok but didn’t have the right vibe, that is until I walked into Caridian BJJ. Everyone here made me feel welcome and a part of the family right from the start.
We just finished the first trial week. My son is 8 years old. He unfortunately has a mother fighting cancer and a father whom recently had a large brain tumor removed. We knew we were looking for not only the perfect place, but to be sure he has the skills to protect himself for his lifetime.
Earlier this year we enrolled my son(8) at Caridian. Shortly thereafter, after watching how much he loved it, my daughter(6) asked us if she could join too. Both of them have been training and competing for a few months now and I have nothing but great things to say about our experience at Caridian. It’s a big family.
Your first BJJ class at Caridian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
