From the reviews
I’ve seen firsthand how my dad trains — it’s more than just technique or fitness. He pushes people to break through their limits, not just physically but mentally. He holds everyone to a higher standard because he truly believes in what they’re capable of, even when they don’t see it yet.
My daughter has been going here for a little over a month now. The experience has been amazing for her and I. Sensei G has made us feel welcome from the start. He always makes sure each person gets some 1 on 1 no matter the class size. He includes me in everything and makes me feel part of the team.
I am loving Alpha Training. Sensei G does an amazing job of identifying individual strengths and areas needing improvement for each of his students. He really brings out the best in them. I am loving the confidence, physical development and discipline. I am loving watching my little one grow.
alpha training has honestly been a whole new world for me. sensei gabe teaches with a level of care & detail i’ve never experienced anywhere else. when he says that he gives everyone undivided attention (no matter their amount of experience), he really does.
Your first BJJ class at ALPHA TRAINING
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
