From the reviews
I took Teakwondo for 15 years, and made it to a 2nd degree black belt. I was a little hesitant to sign my daughter up just because it was a different style of Karate. Daniel O'Brian is a brilliant instructor, and teacher.
I can't say enough positive words about Triad Martial Arts Academy! My son has been attending karate classes there for a year and a half now, and he loves every minute of it! He has learned discipline, the importance of physical activity and healthy eating, as well as valuable karate and self defense skills.
Our daughter has attended Triad for over 2 years now and it has been an amazing experience for her! Triad has amazing instructors who truly care about seeing their students excel in Martial Arts.
This place has been the very best thing for my son! Triad has taught him self control, self confidence, coordination and countless new skills! I mean it when I say they have made a genuine change in my childs disposition! He looks up to Daniel so much and admires him for his hard work and discipline!
Your first BJJ class at Triad Martial Arts Academy
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
