From the reviews
Great place to do Martial arts besides been the home of UFC champions Glover Teixeira and Alex Poatan Pereira and several future prospects. Brazilian jiu-jitsu has the great black belt and former UFC fight Caio Magalhães. If you looking for training and being in shape there is the place to be.
I had the fortunate pleasure of dropping into Teixeira MMA tonight for their BJJ class while traveling for work. It was by far one of the best drop in experiences I have had. The instructor and members were more than welcoming and the professor was extremely knowledgeable.
The coaches at Teixeira MMA are not only extremely knowledgeable but also patient and so kind to the young kids they teach. 10/10 would never take my daughter elsewhere. They truly make the gym and second home and family. Love these guys! Shout out to coach Victor, Juju, Jason and Mari
I have been coming to this gym for about 2 months now. Since you walk in the door everyone is super friendly and helpful. Raf took the time to help me choose classes. I am a girl basically beginning BJJ and coach Caio has been extremely respectful, encouraging and patient with me, and with everyone else on the mats.
Your first BJJ class at Teixeira MMA & Fitness
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
