The classes they run
“They do a fantastic job with the kids, keeping things fun and engaging while showing proper technique and also teaching them how to be respectful of others.”
“Also you as a parent will be shocked at how great this is for teaching actual self defense to disable a threatening person without hurting them.”

From the reviews
Shawn and all of the professors at Stonecoast BJJ are incredible. It is a fantastic family atmosphere. Both of my kids gained confidence, fitness, and life skills. Absolutely recommend!
I have 4 sons and they are involved in a number of sports/hobbies. We have searched many years, looking for the perfect martial arts program. There are facilities which claim to be "martial arts", but upon further analysis I find their main pull is the after school day cares and summer camps, leaving martial arts as…
This has been far the most rewarding program for kids. Sinse my daughter started a few months ago,the change in her is remarkable. She has more confidence in her self, she can walk tall with a smile on her face.
Stonecoast Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been incredible for our family. My children have trained here for over three years and have grown so much in confidence, discipline, and self-pride. The coaches are supportive, patient, and truly invested in each child’s growth, both on and off the mats.
Your first BJJ class at Stonecoast Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Kids
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
