From the reviews
I honestly did not know what to expect when getting involved with Jiu Jitsu, I figured it'd be an addition to my fitness goals. Jiu Jitsu has been equal parts fun and challenging. It's a different kind of hard, but a rewarding process as well. Jiu Jitsu has helped me regain some of the confidence that I had forgotten.
RC and Victoria are awesome. They break everything down and make sure you understand. They teach their students to build up others in the class. I have probably trained with 30 different people up there now and I have had nothing but love and respect from all my training partners.
As a Taekwondo Grandmaster and Hapkido Master, I was truly humbled at the ease the Professor controlled me on the ground. This is the best school for all of your mental and physical needs. I've been teaching for 28 years and this Husband-Wife Team are top notch.
I have been training jiu jitsu for almost 10 years and under many different professors/academies and Roniel is easily one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. He has an infectious enthusiasm for the sport and a positive attitude that really sets the perfect tone and atmosphere for learning this beautiful art.
Your first BJJ class at Seeds 13 Jiu-Jitsu Academy - Early, TX
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
