From the reviews
I stopped in for a BJJ class while in town for the eclipse. The instructor, Gabe, was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and a good teacher. The class was excellent, the gym space was clean and the other students were friendly and skilled. I will definitely come back the next time I am in town.
I’ve been a student of Gabe’s for a little over two years now and his school and instruction are unmatched. Gabe teaches what works and it’s proven itself time and time again. The adult classes focus on technical skills and give competitive training rounds post-instruction. You won’t find a better “bang for your buck.
Stopped in to train here while I was in the area for work at Camp Perry. Gabriel gave an amazing class, and his students were super welcoming. We had great rolls, and great training. I would definitely train here full-time if I lived in this area.
My husband and I cross train here often. We both love this gym! Great instructors and great instructions. Highly recommend checking them out!
Your first BJJ class at Second Nature Brazilian Jiu Jitsu®️
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
