The classes they run
“We recently moved to this gym, because we recognized that Burien BJJ has an exceptional program, with an emphasis on learning a lot of technical and fundamental skills.”
“At first I was looking for a place where my children could learn some kind of self defense, decided try a free class for myself and felt in love with the discipline.”
“They offer Gi and no Gi classes and my kids like to mix it up and do both.”

“They don’t force it, but the kids see the older athletes who also train there and it seems to inspire the younger ones to focus their energy and improve their skills.”
From the reviews
Extremely welcoming with some very good students. There was alot of emphasis from the students on helping teach each other drills and sequences during sparring sessions. I like that because it allowed me to really learn while I was there for 2 weeks.
Two of our kiddos go to Kids BJJ here. The coaches have been exceptionally patient with them as they learn BJJ. One of our kiddos is a little more nervous than the other and the patience and understanding as he learns the art of BJJ by the coaches has been outstanding.
I've been training here for a few months now and have to say this place is amazing. Lessons are taught in a sequential manner and Coach Chris and Lindsi do a great job at filling in the gaps should you have questions. Simply put Burien BJJ is a safe, clean, and supportive school.
Rebellion Jiu-Jitsu has been amazing for the whole family. Both my kids (son & daughter) are in the jiu-jitsu classes and are thriving! They enjoy the classes and most especially love their coaches!!
Your first BJJ class at Rebellion Jiu-Jitsu
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
