From the reviews
I can't say enough great things about this gym! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The instructors are top-notch, patient, and dedicated to helping you improve your skills.
So excited to see this crew opening up a location north of DFW! Our son has trained BJJ with them previously and we have nothing but good to say. They are not just great instructors but fierce competitors in Jiu-Jitsu and Judo with many accolades, so they definitely walk the walk. Plus, they make you feel like family.
NTX MMA offers top notch training for kids. They’ll train them up, and when the coaches feel that your child is ready to compete they’ll approach you, offer their insight & help get them signed up. During son’s first competition he ended up taking home gold.
I could not recommend a better gym. The owners, coaches, and facility are a 10/10. Every class we go to is a great experience and you can tell the kids are so excited to be there. We go as many times a week that we can fit in! We love being apart of the NTX MMA family!
Your first BJJ class at NTX MMA
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
