From the reviews
One of the best decisions I have made was to sign my 6-year-old son up for Taekwondo at Musa. Master Lacey is amazing with all the kids and really works to teach character traits, discipline, and focus in addition to the martial arts.
MUSA is awesome! Master Lacey has an excellent program - the kids LOVE it. His team is fully engaged in each class, teaching and guiding the kids through each movement/activity. Their Tae Kwon Do class is a great way to teach discipline and respect - even for the youngest little warriors.
My daughter struggled with her behavior and I didn't know if Musa would be a good fit for her. After doing our trial classes, we saw how great Master Lacey is with the kids and my daughter did great!
Musa martial arts is such an amazing school! My oldest son just got his second degree black belt, and my youngest is in the little warriors class. Master Lacey is great with the little kids and the big kids. He strives to make it fun, inviting and instructional. Musa is cultivating an amazing group of kids and adults.
Your first BJJ class at MUSA Martial Arts | Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Hapkido
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
