From the reviews
My kids enjoy it so much! Great coaches and they treat you as a family. It’s expensive for me but they work with you and that is very rare. It not only teaches kids discipline but it teaches them they can do anything they put there minds to, which I try to also instill in my boys.
Metro Jiu-Jitsu has been phenomenal. My son started Jiu Jitsu in April, for the fist time at 12 years old. MetroJJ has welcomed him with open arms and are working diligently to show him the ropes. His confidence has grown in himself and his abilities. His behavior and outlook on life are improving.
My sons are really enjoying their time at Metro Jui-Jitsu, as am I. We haven't been here very long and I can already see them becoming part of the team and having something positive to focus on. All of the coaches I have seen so far seem to have a natural authority and ability to lead/teach.
Highly Recommend! My son just completed his first week at Metro Jiu-Jitsu, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Everyone at the gym has been awesome to talk with, from the coaches to the other parents. I love how structured the practices are and how intentional the environment is. The separate parent room is a great idea.
Your first BJJ class at Metro Jiu-Jitsu
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
