From the reviews

My daughter has been going to fights sports for a year now, so I feel like now I can write an honest review. They are simply great at what they do. They have great and friendly instructors, they maintain a clean and safe environment and are very patient with small children.

★★★★★ — Erickson, Aug 2022

They’ve created a great environment. I've been attending this gym for a few months. I've been inconsistent based on my schedule. But I'm always welcomed and never feel judged. They are happy to meet you where you are on your BJJ journey.

★★★★★ — Pedro, Jul 2024

This review is by a man who has never been a part of martial arts or any previous athletic endeavor: I’ve been training here since April 2021. I chose this school because they were the ONLY place in my local region that answered my inquiry during the later pandemic timeline.

★★★★★ — Justin, Jan 2025

I’ve been training here for almost 4 years now. This is a little bit about my experience. I came in overweight, out of shape and full of bad choices. Everybody was very welcoming and supportive. I’d never been around a better group of people who are trying to better themselves and help others succeed.

Your first BJJ class at JiuJitsu4Life Coral Springs Jiu Jitsu & Martial Arts

Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

BJJ is a contact sport. Ease in, tap early and often, listen to your coaches, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
