From the reviews
I dropped in for two judo classes the week after Christmas while I was in town visiting. The sensei was very welcoming and seemed happy to have a visitor. The class was 90 minutes and was well structured, either time for warm up, technique review, drill, and randori.
Best ever judo academy super professional coach my son has been attending to this academy for two years and is national champion 2 years consecutive and I wonder those who has never been in our academy how can they share some false statements trying to minimize the great work of our coaches Abel Fernandez and Oscarito…
Sensei Abel and Sensei Oscar are top notch instructors that really care about their student's. Since I’ve started with them not only have I evolved as a martial artist I have evolved as a better leader, co worker, family member etc due to the respectful and family oriented atmosphere they instill in the dojo.
El compromiso y la dedicación de este profesor van más allá de simplemente enseñar técnicas en el tatami; él está también formando personas para la vida, inculcando valores como el respeto, la disciplina y la superación personal.
Your first BJJ class at Grappling Arts Jiu-jitsu & Judo LLC
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
