From the reviews
Gracie Barra has been a fantastic experience for both of my children, who look forward to each session. The supportive environment, led by the owner Jordan, fosters discipline and confidence while ensuring that the classes remain fun and engaging.
We travel often and while in town my daughters (9 and 6) and my husband wanted to train so we chose to drop in for the week and we were thoroughly pleased. Everyone was so incredibly nice.
Jujitsu is something that changed my life! It's not just about self defense it's about discipline and showing up when you don't feel like it is how you improve. Showing up to these classes on bad days converts over to eating clean even wen temptations are high working out even when you don't feel like it.
Love the team at Gracie barra Jasper. Started with my daughter wanting to try martial arts. Fast forward a bit and now she wants to be a black belt have her own gym and compete in the highest levels of the sport. She convinced me to do it. In that time I’ve learned a lot lost some weight and feel better in general.
Your first BJJ class at Gracie Barra Jasper
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
