From the reviews
A fantastic MMA academy for yourself and for your children. All three of my children have been there for years. My two oldest achieved their Black Belts and my youngest continues her journey while being a Senior Red Belt at this time.
My son and I joined Ganguly's a few months ago, and we couldn't be happier! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with professionalism and warmth from the owner and staff.
My daughter has been attending Ganguly's Mixed Martial Arts for over a year. In addition to self defense, they teach respect and confidence. "You don't have to BE the best, you just have to do YOUR best". That is something repeated by the instructors, who are the ones that make the Dojo such a special place.
My son has been in Gangulys for a little over a year now and it was the best decision my wife and i have ever made. His maturity, confidence, skill and discipline have evolved at a rapid pace. Mr Colin, Mrs Jackie and Mr Joe are amazing with kids and always have a positive attitude and passion for martial arts.
Your first BJJ class at Ganguly's Mixed Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
