Great Dojo. Put my 5 year old in karate cause I wanted him to learn how to be more disciplined and respectful. This Dojo has been very helpful and my son is taking that knowledge to kindergarten that he has started. Highly recommended for all ages.
My daughter has attended here for going on 2 years, in that time she has grown so much in respect, leadership skills, and being a positive person for her community. The classes are always fun and positive.
My five year old has been taking karate classes here for exactly one year. It was been a wonderful experience. The teachers are all amazing, kind, and good with kids. My son has learned so much since we've been there. Not only do they teach the moves, but they also build character and discipline.
I have been going to Dunham's Martial Arts for about 2 to 4 months. I can say with confidence that anyone who joins will enjoy themselves and you will learn many beneficial things. From exercise to learning everyday things to help make your life that much better.
Your first BJJ class at Dunham's Martial Arts Training Center
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
