From the reviews
While at reserves here in San Antonio, I had the pleasure of stopping by Dream Art. Everyone was incredibly welcoming; the rolls were solid, competitive and fun. Perhaps the thing I liked the most was the teamwork of Rafael and his fiancée, Giovanna.
It was my daughters first class, first time trying anything out like this but from the moment we walked in she was welcomed, That made her feel more comfortable and the coaches are good with the kids. My Daughter is looking forward to her next class and excited about her new BJJ journey. Awesome Place…
We are currently doing the one week trial and I gotta say my son (9) and I love this place so far the coaches are very hands on and really care about the children my son has learned so much in just one week and really looks forward to going to training after school! ✨❤️
If you're in the area and thinking about BJJ, this is the place to go! They've been in the business for a long time and the instructors are top-notch, bringing years of experience to the mat. Whether you're just starting BJJ or looking to up your game, this is the spot.
Your first BJJ class at Dream Art Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
