From the reviews
I have trained here with my 4 kids (16, 14, 12, and 10) since November 2020. We absolutely love the training! Professor Cleidson Ramos is an amazing instructor who makes time for each student even while the gym continues to grow. Come check it out as you will not be disappointed!
I love this place! Last December I took my 5 year old son to try out the jujitsu class. The moment I met Daniela she made me feel welcomed. She was very sweet and friendly and I quickly felt like I was part of the family. Sensei is an amazing person and profesor.
The instructor is great. The techniques and skills my kids learn are excellent for self-defense. They get a lot of experience practicing what they are taught. My 13 y/o daughter and 10 y/o son attend the same class Tue & Thu 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
I took a class on Tuesday and had a blast. The place is clean and professional. The Professor is awesome and treated me well. Everyone was friendly and helped me out during the class. It was my first class. I signed up to train on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I look forward to learning and improving my skills. Thank you.
Your first BJJ class at Carlson Gracie Vacaville
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
