Empowering Growth and Confidence: A Review of My Daughter's Jiu-Jitsu School Over the past two years, my daughter's journey at her Jiu-Jitsu school has been nothing short of remarkable. The impact it has had on her confidence, strength, and overall development is truly inspiring.
Excellent Brazilian Jiujitsu training in Ocoee Florida. My 8-year-old daughter trains with the kids group and loves coming. The instructor for the kids - Coach Riley - creates such a great welcoming atmosphere for the kids.
My son started jiu-jitsu back in February and loves it. We have seen him grow so much already in the last 6 months. Thiago has created a family like atmosphere here, and my son loves coming to practice. I have even done the kick boxing class with coach Rey and it’s a great workout.
Took my four year-old son for a trial class and he loved it. The professor Thiago is super patient and firm with the kids. He’s doing an amazing job. This has helped my son come out of his show and giving him confidence like I never thought. Thank you for your dedication.
Your first BJJ class at Carlson Gracie Orlando
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
