From the reviews
I have two kids who have been attending this academy for over two years now and we all couldn’t be happier. The professors are all very knowledgeable and patient in teaching and explaining technique while also making sure to mix in fun time as well.
My son has been at the academy for 3 years, and from the beginning, he has always felt very welcome by everyone. The instructor is excellent, very attentive and dedicated, making all the difference in his development and self-confidence.
I always wanted to attend classes but couldn’t find the right school for learning. I decided to finally join and elected on Alliance Jiu Jutsu after receiving private lessons from one of the coaches (Eric). After the lessons, I was officially hooked. Since starting in January, I had lost 15 pounds and counting.
Jiu Jitsu has changed my life for the better and there is no better place to train than Alliance in Brentwood. Awesome coaches and staff that great you by name every time. Top notch coaching and very clean. I can’t say enough positive things about this amazing academy. My daughter now trains here as well and loves it.
Your first BJJ class at Alliance Jiu Jitsu Brentwood
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
