From the reviews
As a purple belt I’ve been looking for a gym with a family vibe, fun, safe training environment and good teaching for my kids. I can say without a doubt that I’ve found that for my son at A-Side. My son signed up with his best friend and now both are training 5days out of the week.
One of my son's classmates takes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes at A-side and recommended that we join, too. We did the free trial week and then decided to sign up for more classes. We’ve had such a great experience here! The school is very clean and well-organized.
We absolutely love A-Side! Professor Arman is the perfect mix of fun, cool, and disciplined. My two boys (ages 10 and 5) look forward to every single class, which says a lot because this is the first activity they’ve truly been excited about.
We absolutely love this dojo. Our 2 sons have been training here everyday since 1.5 years. Prof. Arman really preps the kids well for competitions and takes his role very seriously. He brings a great energy to the classes and really knows how to bring discipline but keep it fun and enjoyable.
Your first BJJ class at A-Side Jiu Jitsu and Fitness, LLC
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
