From the reviews
As a former Navy SEAL Operator, there is not a better gym or program in the state of Florida for training BJJ and more importantly-self defense (for all ages and types). Jon and his team are both professional and the best instructors I have come across in all of Orlando. Jon’s training is a must for LEO, or similar.
We absolutely love 6 Levels Orlando! I am a student of their adult Gracie Jiu-Jitsu classes and have attended all of their women's self defense classes. I also take private instruction from their Fitness and Striking coaches. My son is also a student in the youth program and is on the comp team.
We have been attending this gym for over five years now and it is the most family friendly gym with a variety of options. Boxing classes, personal training, Professional tactical weapon training, Women’s self-defense classes, jujitsu, kids classes and more.
The new facility is amazing! I am a brown belt that started 11 years ago and I came to Jon Burke as a purple belt. I trained one class with him and immediately switched gyms. His experience training with Royce Gracie and having the closest proximity to the source of knowledge in the Gracies was so obvious right away.
Your first BJJ class at 6 Levels Orlando Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and Women's Self Defense
Nervous about walking into a BJJ gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic positions and escapes with a partner — not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — many gyms lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi (or a rashguard and shorts for no-gi) and a mouthguard. Live rolling eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
